We're Still Alive!

I know many of you think we have fallen off the face of the earth, but rest assured (or disappointed) we haven't. Since our last update, which seems like eons ago, we have worked our way slowly north.

We spent part of April and May visiting Arlene and Sue in Isle of Palms and Daniel Island. We helped Arlene out with some projects to both the house and her boat (Serendipidy) and since her and Sue were working the Family Circle women's professional tennis tournament, they got us some passes to see some great tennis.

We stopped in Deep Creek (Chesapeake, VA) and visited with some of Bernie's old firefighter bro's. Every year the ones he knows keeps getting fewer as more are retired. We also spent a few days in Portsmouth and visited Patti & Alan. We then stopped in Hills Creek and sent a couple of weeks while visiting Patti & Alan at their cabin and helped Alan celebrate his Old Fart birthday (60) and enjoyed a Memorial Day cookout with their family, friends and neighbors. In June we hooked up with Patti & Alan (again) while they were on vacation with their boat. We rafted up with them in Onancock, VA for 2 nights. We then traveled together to Chrisfield, MD and then onto Solomens Island, MD. While there, we were dissapointed to find out that Woodburns ( a GREAT grocery & deli) has gone out of business. We also traveled together to St. Michaels and then to Cambridge, MD. We had a great time together and they had family and friends who met up at a Chrisfield and Cambridge. We split up after that stop as we were heading north and them south (back to work.) Mitzi had a great time whenever we rafted up exploring Patti & Alan's boat. This was a new experience for her and she made herself right at home on "Fairways."

We are now in our military seasonal slip at Aberdeen Proving Grounds (Army) in Edgewood, MD on the Bush River. We've been here since latter June and will leave sometime later this month. I'm glad we have been in a slip with easy access to air conditioning since the weather has been brutally hot. Maryland had its hottest July on record. While here we're visiting family in PA and Carol and her sister (Pam) went to NY for a few days to visit family up there. Mom's house sold the end of June so that is the conclusion of her affairs, Friday will be one year since she past away. She would be pleased to know that her baby (Mitzi) is doing very well. Mitzi has become a well traveled cat in the past year.

Our next planned stop over will be at Yankee Point on the Corrotoman River for haul-out before continuing south. We hope to pick up Pat Brumley, one of Bernie's old firefighter Bro's (also retired) at Patuxant Naval Air Station for a ride with us to Yankee Point.

We hope this catches you up (if you're interested) with our adventures. If We forgot anything, it's because our minds are old.
