Busy Summer and Fall
This is a long, overdue update on our activities since August.
Cat's Cradle got underway mid August from Isle-of-Palms, SC headed north. Eight long traveling days later found us at Pautaxent NAS,when weather set in, so Bernie drove Carol and Mitzi on to Pennsylvannia and then returned to move the boat on to Aberdeen a few days later.
Mitzi, it has turned out has adapted to boat life very well, and seems content.
During September and October Bernie commuted on the weekends from the boat to Lancaster, PA. Projects for Cat's Cradle included, replacement of the oil cooler, total replacement of waste hose, upgrading the alternator to a 210amp and a few other assorted tasks.
Carol worked on clearing out the family home of 43 years, culminating in an Estate Sale and listing the house for sale.
8 Nov the 3 of us (Mitzi included) returned to Aberdeen to prepare for our trip south, it was getting too cold to stay much longer. Finally on our way 13 Nov, marina hopping, since the has been a continuing problem with charging batteries. Arriving in Isle-of-Palms ( seems to be home as of late), 2 days before Thanksgiving, a wonderful holiday with friends had by all.
Issues with the new alternator have to be resolved along with a few other minor items, so as of now we are unsure of when we will continue on south.
