July

On the 16th of July, Carol and Mitzi made another road trip to return to Pennsylvania with the intent of taking Mom home from the Nursing home. That was accomplished on the 21st. As of right now this will be an indefinite stay and Bernie plans to bring Cats Cradle north to the Aberdeen Proving Grounds marina in August, after completing the store build in South Carolina. Good friend Arlene has offered to help bring the boat north.
With aid from the Lancaster Hospice, Mom will be able to stay in her own home where she is most comfortable for the time being.

South Carolina

Late in April we landed in Isle-Of-Palms, SC at friend Arlene's, it is now July and we are still here.

Bernie has been doing West Marine new store projects, 4 weeks in Ft Walton Beach, Fl and 3 weeks in Stuart, Fl, back-to-back. He is now back in SC and next week will start a 4 week build locally in Mt Pleasant.

Unfortunately soon after arriving Scupper became ill, her battle went on for a month but in the end she decided it was time to leave us. We did not understand why then, but evidently everything happens for a reason. In late June, Carol's Mom was unable to stay in her home and care for her 8 year old cat - Mitzi. The best option at this time is for Mitzi to be with us aboard "Cat's Cradle". So after a long car ride Mitzi and Carol are still friends, of course the boat hasn't moved from the dock yet.

We are planning to head north as soon as Bernie is done with the Mt Pleasant project and will make it a fast trip to the head of the bay, so that we can help with issues in Pennsylvania.
