South Carolina
Yes we are still in Isle-of-Palms, South Carolina. After celebrating Thanksgiving with our friends here, unforeseen circumstances are dictating an extended stay, probably through Christmas. On 6 Dec, Bernie had a TIA (transient ischemic attack). After an ambulance ride and Emergency Room visit he was admitted to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for testing and received a diagnosis of a 90% blocked right carotid artery. Surgery was performed on the 9th, everything went pretty much as expected and he was discharged the following day. He has not been back to the boat as yet due to the climbing, bending and stooping required. Good friend, Arlene is putting up with him at her home for the time being.
We were lucky to have been here where both Arlene and Sue have gone above and beyond to help us out.
Scupper is having a bit of separation anxiety (though it hasn't affected her appetite) from Bernie that we hope won't last much longer.
