Isle of Palms

Greetings, One and All. We have arrived at Arlene's place and will be here for about 2 weeks. Arlene and Sue are doing well, although Sue is STILL waiting on her new digs to be completed (looooooooong story). We had quite a trip up from Jacksonville to here. The weather prevented a comfortable trip up the coast so we traveled the ICW. In Georgia, we encountered some very smoky conditions from all the wild fires. Some places had as little as a quarter mile visibility. Before we left JAX we encountered the largest pod of Manatees we have ever seen (see pictures), not sure if it was mating, birthing or just a social. We had a good time in Jacksonville, met some old friends and made some new too. Bernie worked at the nearby West Marine, as usual they were in need of some help just as we got there. Jim & Arlene Callahan were going to stop for lunch on their way to Daytona, but got lost trying to find JAX NAS and after crossing the St. Johns River several times, called to say they needed to press on to Daytona. Oh well. Gilligan enjoyed having a dock to explore, but did not like another cat he encountered. The two of them had MANY standoffs and minor spats. While here in Isle of Palms, Carol is doing a canvas job for Arlene and Bernie has a few small jobs to do for her too. Temps have been pleasant even if the winds won't cooperate.
